Complex Installation
Be aware that you need to hardwire it to a power source. I think I missed that in the details. Other than that works as expected.

Once offline forgetaboutit…
Power went off. Now we apparently we need to locate NASA or Elon musk to get the camera working again. It says it can’t find the camera. And yet it worked before. I am holding my phone against it. This is a huge problem. What if the power goes out when we are on vacation ? Fly home to reboot?

This requires a wired circuit, you cannot power it with just an outlet.
Google/Nest makes good stuff and I can’t complain about the quality of the hardware. However, this really implies that the extra cable will allow you to mount it without having to hardwire it in. But that is not the case. The floodlight requires being wired into a circuit. That in turn has a short power cord to power the camera in addition to the flood. The “extra” cable that is separately packaged, is literally pointless. If you wire the flood in, you have power for the camera already, if you’re using the extra cable to power just the camera, then why would you have bought the floodlight version in the first place? Pretty misleading. I’ll have to run a circuit to use it, which I was trying to avoid, and what am I supposed to with this extra cable that only powers a camera?

buyer beware
Worked as advertised for a couple of weeks then stopped notification to my iPhone. Tried reinstalling it three times no change. Unit then went off line and now can’t reinstall it. Sent feed back to Nest and was promised a return email and never got any. Bought two units with one still in the unopened box but don’t think I can return it.

Wired product still uses battery
Despite being wired, this device still uses battery and the battery is almost always completely drained even with conservative, battery-friendly settings. The camera also doesn’t work below 32°F.

Great coverage and light
Not sure if it still deserved a review. Never been disappointed by this floodlight
