Fixed my Wifi problem in my house
My house had a strong wifi signal throughout the house, but my network performed poorly. The tech said the problem could possibly be to many devices for the router to manage. We got my work computer to good enough by installing a device that hard wires my work computer to the router. So now the review. I order this mesh system at the recommendation of my co-works. I moved 10 of the devices to the mesh along with computer and phone and my problem was solved. The system works great! It was ez to install once I understood what they wanted me to do You have to a special app to activate the 2 endpoints. They really need to include that in the home application! I would have given all 5 if it was not for that. However, once I figured out that is what they wanted, it was easy sailing from there. I just expected a little more from Google. I also have a nest thermostat and was expecting the wifi to work in that nesy app since it’s branded nest. At least the nest thermostat shows up in Google home.

The best in the market
My first Google Nest was destroyed by Hurricane Helene. Bought this set and I am just as satisfied as I was the first time. Connection is easy, stable and covers the entire 1200sf house. I also love being able to play music in any room. Google Nest is the best on the market.

Avoid
Horrible experience. I tried replacing Gen 1 with these devices and the experience was mind numbingly awful. Three hours to install three units, a router and two points. There’s a QR code label on the bottom of each device. If you misplace this QR code, the installation instructions are to use the setup code on the bottom of the device. On the six units I have, there is no setup code on the bottom of the device. There is no workaround for this — it is a design or manufacturing defect.Google Home is the installation software. This app is (generously) beta quality. On a Pixel 8 with current Android, these units could not be installed with the QR code. There’s an error message, but it isn’t readable as the message runs off the screen in both portrait and landscape modes. I deleted/reinstalled Google Home, restarted my phone — no improvement. I had to use an iPad running Google Home to install the units. That worked fine with the QR code. If you have an iPad available, save yourself some grief and use it for the install.I would not buy this product again and, if I could, I’d return it to Amazon for a refund and purchase the latest Google wifi products. Recommend staying with Gen 1 if possible or trying the latest Google Wifi products.UPDATE: after weeks of back-and-forth with Google tech support, no resolution to ongoing issues with mesh degradation and access points dropping out of the mesh in a seemingly random way. For my use case, the points are not useful. I have experience with Gen 1 and Gen 3 — both of them are very good. I can not recommend Gen 2.

Simple to setup and worked right away
Super easy to setup. While I get annoyed that every new piece of tech requires you to setup an app (Google Home for this item) the process from unboxing to working is very easy and the stretch of the signal is better than I thought. I was hoping to get a better signal to my shop which isn’t connected to the house. I put one pod in the house as close to the shop as I could and then another pod inside the shop. The distance between the two is the same as in between two rooms (which setup recommended you distance the pods 2-3 rooms apart). Approx. 30’. I know have a super strong signal throughout my house (2 story + basement, 3500 sq ft) and my shop which is another 500 sq ft. I even paired the shop pod to my Alexa for extra sound. Very nice upgrade.

Faster than EERO 6
Have both EERO 6 system and this Google system which does not have WIFI 6. Oddly this one (the Google Nest) is faster by quite a bit than the EERO 6. Have not had it long enough to speak to it’s tech support quality, or it’s stability. But, when the EERO 6 was installed it was blazing fast for maybe a day (over 300 meg down and full 30 meg up). But within a day or 2 the system would slow to 160 or so down and 20+ up. Not terrible but this is where it would stay. Very stable but not the speed promised overallThe Google Nest however is a little slower at very top speeds depending on where I am receiving signal. So like the EERO 6 I would see fastest speeds (450/30) when device is closest to the Gateway. However the Google Nest Access Points show stronger/faster speeds 300+/25+ unlike the EERO 6 with 150+/20+ at the access points. So my informal conclusion is the Google Nest access points are faster and stronger than the EERO 6 while the “base” or Gateway unit of Google is a little slower than the EERO 6. But here to not by a lot. Topping out at 375+/30+ vs the EERO 6 Gateway topping out at 475+/30+ These results are based on an installation with the Gateway located in my basement oriented to the rear of my home and approximate center of the rear wall, one AP in a front bedroom at another end of the (long ranch style) home on main floor and the 2nd access point located at opposite end of home main floor toward rear of home.Sadly after only about 3 weeks of use things went haywire. Not sure if it is a fault of the product itself or perhaps the reason it was a “reconditioned” product. They caused constant interruptions to service. Even knocking the modem itself offline. Leading me to believe the issue was Comcast. A tech came out, he checked signal at my cable end. Said it seemed to be weak. Installed a whole new line, confirmed a good strong signal. Modem, and router(s) were all reset and seemed well until about 10 minutes after he left. Down AGAIN!. Connected my old Unifi WAP and while slower everything is operating normally. These things will be going back

Constant and recurrent disconnections
Constant and recurrent disconnections with the Nest Router. It’s not so true that it penetrates walls; it has low power. But the most serious issue is that it’s sold as “mesh” when in reality it works more like a web; all the extenders must be around the router and they do not connect with each other.

De manera inalambrica el producto funciona increible, el problema es que yo necesitaba puertos ethernet, los que este modelo no tiene.La ventaja es que tiene 4 antenas entonces es muy estable la conexion de malla.
