Worked as expected. I was NOT expecting Laptop to NOT have an ethernet connection. It never said that it would, but usually these are a wired/wireless module. It was extremely easy to set up even wirelessly. Did have some issues as backup from previous HP Laptop, had different drivers but was quickly resolved with installed HP Support program. After running the PC Manager program that you must download from Microsoft store and ran health check and deep cleaning, all excess files and junk files were cleaned off. The bloat ware MacAfee that came installed I kept on until I had downloaded windows defender (again from Microsoft Store) and installed it, then deleted it also. After running windows updates for the third time, finally caught up to the Windows 11 25H2 Windows insider version that I was previously on. Unit is currently running better than expected, much faster due to the 64GB of ram that came already installed. The unit came with Microsoft M365 already installed, but you still have to go to the Microsoft M365 website, sign in, and redownload and install APPS again. This is for catching up on the updates from manufactures installation date until today 1/10/2026. Your installation may take longer/shorter depending on version of computer and date of purchase of computer. As of right now I feel like I hit the jackpot of computers with the exception of the “NO ETHERNET LAN CONNECTION built into laptop. I prefer a wired connection for security reasons as well as no outside interference from anything else. This should have had WIFI 7 on it, but doesn’t, but they do sell WIFI 7 dongles at Amazon and Walmart that may make it a little faster if it’s compatible with your machine. I will let everyone know that when I upgrade this laptop to a WIFI 7 Dongle. One Caveat though, the supposed 512 sim card you plug into the dongle supplied did not have the actual sim chip. It came with an adaptor casing to fit the dongle bit no actual chip. This was for the 512 GB storage to make it a 2.5 Terabyte of storage. Doesn’t matter to me since I already have plenty of these sim cards, but for someone else it could cause a problem. I plugged one of mine in and it worked fine. I also plugged a 7 port USB A 3.0 hub into laptop and worked as expected. Lastly, I plugged a 3 port USB-C to HDMI splitter (from Amazon, StarTech.com), into the USB-C port on the laptop, not the dongle provided, and it picked it up and now running (3) HDMI Monitors on it just fine. I had read reviews that said this did not work.I suspect that other users may be using an USB-A (black Connector) vice a USB-A (blue/Red/ Orange/ or yellow connector), which could be their problem. Anyhow this is my take on this purchase. Hope it helps you make up your mind one way or the other. Marlon Osborne.Continuation Feedback:Today 01/12/2026 I added an Amazon (USBGREEN) USB-C to Lan ethernet dongle and Laptop caught it and instantly changed from Wi-Fi to wired ethernet connection. Router confirmed this by showing laptop as wired and so does status bar in bottom right of Windows screen. My throughput speed is 687 MBS via (Okaloosa Speed Test) and since I have Spectrum Ultra internet at 750 MBS Max, I am satisfied with performance. This laptop screams now. Ozzy.

A lot to get if you are on a budget
I did not keep this one because of my own bad choice, and yet the seller was so amazing, I felt sorry sending it back to them. I did, on the same day though, purchased another one from them with the resolution I needed. All in all it was good, and as I was sending my concerns to them, the were FAST answering back.It is a good deal considering it comes with the earbuds, the hub, the extra 520Gb SD card, and Microsfot Offcie 365 installed. It is a hard deal to beat if you are in a budget. Besides, the customer service was perfect.All they wanted is that I felt good about purchasing from them and they addressed all of my concerns. The rep treated me as if I was his brother. I never had that kind of customer service before. Sales people that do not push, and I am happy that I purchased this computer from them, I am happy with the other one too.The most important part is: if you know what you want, read it all carfully before you push that buy now button. Yes, they will be fair and kind to you, but it is always nice to be a good buyer. That is the best think you can do to a good seller, and this one is the best.

So far so good.
So far, so good. I’ve had this for a couple of weeks. It replaced another 17″ laptop that was almost 6 years old and the improved performance is impressive. Screen is clear and bright, although light reflection is a bit annoying in the daytime. No light behind the keyboard but I am a touch typist and it doesn’t bother me. Wifi performance is better than my old computer’s ethernet. I miss having an on board CD/DVD drive, but the external one has done okay. However, it’s just one more thing to keep up with. I have been trying to convert from my mouse to the touchpad, and it is easier to do with this one. The touchscreen has been useful. On board speakers are weak and tinny sounding, but I use headphones mostly anyway. Surprisingly, this computer still has a headphone /microphone port. Have used a USB hub with no problems.

UPDATE AGAIN: After two days of trying to get help – HP states warranty is void because it is not the model specs they sell. Amazon refuses to help stating it is HP responsibility. I’m stuck with NO SUPPORT.UPDATE: // Touchpad is awful. Worked on it for a month. Google reports it is a chronic problem with hp laptops. That alone has been so frustrating that I definitely would not purchase hp laptops again.// Had to drop a star. This arrived fine. Home network setup was a bear but I blame that on a mix of Win 10/11 on my network. As for the unit, I’m happy except for the touch pad. Chronic problems with it sticking and selecting everything it touches. Finally just turned off the function for multiple window select.
