Plug and play, no drivers to mess with, good cord length, decent sound.
I got these because I wanted to try some USB headphones vs plugging my old headphones into my surround sound controller. They were instantly recognized on a Windows 10 box, the red eyes lighted up and I was ready to go. I kinda thought the red eyes were gimmicky, but whatever, I’m not going to a fashion show. The top loop is extra large, perfect for anyone with a lot of hair, or to prevent the “gamer dent” in your skull. The band part fits kind of loosely. I like that the volume, mic on/off and sound on/off are physical buttons on the left rear. There’s also a nice red LED on the microphone boom to let others know it’s on (you can’t see it when wearing the headset)The ear pieces are average. They are blocky but kind of soft. On my head they don’t seal out external noise because they leave a gap at the bottom of my ears. Might be good for people with ear rings or gauges in their ear lobes.The USB wire is the perfect length for me, and should work for almost any desktop or laptop scenario. There’s a built in soft velcro loop on the USB cord so you can coil up any excess.The sound quality is great. The games and movies sound clear. The bass is ok, but not tremendous. I think that has to do more with the sealing around my ears and the 7.1 surround settings. The microphone worked on discord with no setup needed. The microphone boom is kind of short and out of the way, so you have to talk normally to have the sound picked up. Being away from my mouth makes it easier to snack or eat, and not pick up random mouth/breathing noises, but I wish it was just a little longer for those of us with chad jaws.
