    Do it
I was previously using the TP-Link AV1000 Powerline Ethernet Adapter Kit and only getting around 50 Mbps up and 40 Mbps down. I decided to switch over to the TP-Link RE505X Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender, and the difference has been night and day.Now I’m consistently seeing speeds of around 400 Mbps up and 380 Mbps down at about 150 feet through walls, which is nearly on par with what my ISP provides directly at the modem. Setup was straightforward, and the performance jump speaks for itself. If you’re on the fence between a powerline adapter and a modern Wi-Fi 6 extender, I’d definitely recommend going with the RE505X. The speed and signal range and strength improvement alone made it worth the upgrade it is the exact quality you would expect from a TP link WiFi extender.

Super long range, easy to connect!
Amazing value, Easy to connect. Took me 5 minutes. Works with almost any router. I can now have my cameras in my back yard working with full bars. Smart Tv and Firestick have no more buffering! Coverage worked to the end of my property over 150 feet. Use with TPLINK Router and you can also use mesh mode.

Highly recommend. WiFi speed went from 16mbps to 240mbps
Really improved my gaming!Been playing fortnite, and most recently marvel rivals and overwatch 2, and my wifi keep buffering and glitching…so I would lose badly. I thought it was me that sucked. I tried different troubleshooting things to my home wifi modem and things would resolve for a couple hours then back tk buffering and glitching for weeks.Ever since I got this, I love it! My wifi speed on the PS5 went from 16MPBs to 240MBPs once I connected it to this extender via ethernet canle. The image looks even crisp and no issues anymore, plus I win often now!It took me like 30 mins to set up but only because I kept on pressing the wrong buttons hehe.

Easy To Install & Works Great!
As with most households, Internet and good Wi-Fi coverage are essential. One of my computers is older and the WiFi in it just doesn’t work well. So I wanted to get one of these to mesh up with my Archer router so I could use the Ethernet jack on it. This has worked out very well as my TP Link router is compatible with this mesh extender. This extender was easy to set up. What I like so much about it is that it uses the same network name, and I don’t have to do “networkname_ext” to connect to it. So not only did I get faster-than-ever Internet speed for my computer in the basement, but it also helped speed up some of my other devices and helped with dead zones.I liked it so much that I got another one for the garage. My flood light camera in my garage was on the fringe of our Wi-Fi, making the connection not always stable.I hadn’t really gotten into the world of mesh networking, but now I have. I will never go back, and I highly recommend it.

    Goes offline intermittently
The extender was easy to set up, but there are two problems: you can create a new SSID, but you have to use the same password as the router you’re connecting to (!) Very annoying, as I split my time between 3 locations and like to use the same SSID & Pwd at each. More importantly, shortly after I bought it my extender started going offline intermittently. Happens a few times a day and it does come online again after a minute or so, but it’s an annoying interruption. Finally got so tired of it that I bought a different extender, which has been trouble-free. Since this was a refurbished extender I suspect that this why it was returned in the first place, and that the refurbishers never realized there a problem due to its intermittent nature. It’s going into the trash, so that nobody else inherits the problem!

Performs exactly like it should ..
I am a campground host and I live in an area with no cellular phone towers at all whatsoever. My Hughes Net modem/wifi router is located inside and in the very back of my 5th wheel, which has aluminum siding. Outside the trailer in front (40′ away from router) the HughesNet Wi-Fi signal is weak and Wi-Fi phone calls cut in and out. 1-2 bars.I put the TP-Link extender on top of the 5th wheel (12′ tall) – and it gives me 500′ line-of-sight range from the TP-Link. More like 300′ if there’s any obstructions. It will stream a YouTube video or give you a good clear Wi-Fi call from 300’…. And up to 500′ if you stand in the same spot and don’t move out of sight of the extender.Don’t forget this unit isn’t water resistant so I must take it down if it rains. I don’t know how it would perform in a constant high humidity environment.Putting the Wi-Fi extender in the most open spot and as high up as possible gives you the most range obviously, but exposes it to the elements and bird poop.If the unit loses power – when it later regains power, it automatically reconnects with no problems. You can’t print using your Wi-Fi-network-connected printer through the extender – I’m sure that’s a security measure. But for my Google Pixel 9 Pro, I prefer to be connected to the TP link as is it gives me so much more range – so when I arrive at home (where there are no cell towers) – before I even get out of my car, my phone will connect to my satellite network. So in my particular case this is a great item to have…..

Would not reliably reproduce Wi-Fi signal
Bought this to extend my TPLink router in the family room so the signal could reach the living room and master bedroom.I could see the increased signal strength, but data packets were dropping like crazy.Ended up getting an EERO Mesh network 3 Pack and now I have 200 mbps throughout my entire home.Yes, EERO is expensive, but it works.
