Finally ditched the walled garden
After years of Sonos making me feel like an idiot every time I tried to queue a song at a friend’s house, I rebuilt my entire home audio setup around WiiM. I’m running a WiiM Ultra into a Denon AVR, which gave me actual control over my system: I can stream my turntable anywhere, use Tidal and Qobuz without compromise, and most importantly, never think about HEOS again.I bought this speaker as a kitchen satellite so I wouldn’t have to crank the living room system just to hear music over the sound of chopping vegetables. It’s shockingly good. Within the limits of physics and a 4-inch driver, it has real detail, balanced mids, and more authority than it has any right to at this size. It’s also surprisingly heavy (feels like actual build quality, not the hollow plastic nonsense you get from lifestyle brands).Multi-room streaming has been flawless. Stays perfectly synced with my main speakers, which is not something I take for granted anymore. I’m already planning a second one for another room.I’ll admit I was skeptical about the little screen on the front. Seemed like a gimmick that added cost for no real benefit, and I almost waited for a rumored version without it. Turns out I was wrong. The album art display is actually useful. When I’m cooking and hear something I like, I can glance over and know exactly what’s playing without pulling out my phone. You can also switch to a text only display if you prefer.On price: I was hoping to land closer to $250, but at $300 it still feels like the value is there if you can stretch a bit. The build quality and sound justify the premium. That said, if you’re only thinking about one speaker for your kitchen and you’re already deep into another ecosystem, it probably makes sense to stick with what you have. But if you’re open to a change or looking for a platform to build around long term, WiiM is worth serious consideration. The architecture is completely open, the components are legitimately audiophile grade, and you’re not locked into a walled garden that treats you like a revenue stream instead of a customer.If you’re thinking about the white version, be warned: it shows grime immediately. Not great if you cook with your hands or have kids. I wish they offered a gray option (would be perfect for a modern, light toned room without the constant fingerprint anxiety).Overall, one of the few audio purchases lately that actually lived up to expectations. Solid gear, no regrets.

Great to fill small-medium room, great for multi-room listening
Using the WiiM Sound in my open layout kitchen, and fills the space really well! It does everything I wanted it to do, and pairs with my WiiM Pro, so I can have multi-room audio. I am able to AirPlay to the WiiM Pro, to stream Apple Music on the WiiM Sound. I can even pair the two devices when using Line In with my turntable to them play in both rooms, seamlessly.I like the look of the WiiM Sound, as well. Nice remote, and the display is a nice, even classy, touch.

Simple, effective, great for Qobuz Connect
Who I am – person with no existing speaker setup who wanted to stream Qobuz directly to a speaker (it doesn’t work with Echo) that did not involve a bunch of hook ups. This speaker absolutely delivers, plus the pre set options and screen (that my kids love to look at when the music plays) is a huge plus.For simplicity, elegance and fit-for-purpose, this seems well worth the investment.

Legit high-quality multi functional wireless speaker!
I have to say I have purchased many smart speakers, and when I had the opportunity to order this one, I jumped on it!At first glance, you may think, “Wow this is expensive!”, but let me tell you, it is totally worth it!When you first unpack the box, you just take a minute to stare at how beautifully the speaker is made. There are no flaws. It’s just gorgeous.Once you plug it in and start charging it that’s when you’re really blown away. It is a full color display in the front and the touchscreen display on the top is supercool as well!Using the app to do the set up, makes it completely easy. You just follow directions on your smart device and 10 minutes later. You are good to go.One thing I thought was pretty exciting was that the speaker adjusted itself for the room in which you are going to listen to it. Yes, it adjusts the sound for your surroundings! It’s also very well weighted, for the quality it provides it’s not “lightweight”, however, it has a nice solid weight and is definitely not heavy!If you move it to another room, you simply take a few moments to set it up for that room, not only does it measure and create the best sound for the dimensions of the room. It also gets specific about the height in which you’re going to listen to it.The voice activated remote is very simple to pair and use and it does save you a lot of time versus having to go onto your smart device.It connected easily with my Alexa app which makes me very happy and it also is preprogrammed to connect and stream several music streaming apps.I haven’t had enough time to really build my playlists and database, but I have selected my playback settings: what I want to see on my display while music is playing, sound preferences, volume, etc.the sound quality is comparable to high end speakers and the touchscreen top is very simple to use.It doesn’t take long to charge, I haven’t used it unplugged yet. I haven’t needed to as it’s the middle of winter and I won’t be taking it anywhere until the spring and summer, but I can tell you that it connects to all of the wireless speakers in my home in minutes. The all home speaker feature works well, and is easily set up by the app.To me this speaker system is worth every penny/value for money is in the customer’s benefit as it falls between most high end/quality speakers and mid-level speakers, but provides you with so much more! It’s simply multifunctional and the quality, again, is top notch and super customizable!If I could change one thing, it would be to make it easier to import your playlists without having to rebuild them in every music streaming app and if I could add one thing to this package, it would be a waterproof carrying case as I plan to take it out on the boat all summer long!Worth every penny and then some! Highly recommended!

Sonos Era 100 is better even using the downsampled crappy aux input. Come on, bring in Airplay
Ex audio engineer, currently an audiologist here. I know sound and am a bit of an audiophile. I wanted to like this. I am using a Sonos Era 100 in the kitchen that I have placed on top of a Wiim Pro. I have hidden all the wires in a box so it looks clean, but not as clean as the Wiim would look. Unfortunately, the sound is lacking. Despite being physically bigger than the Era, the base is not as present. Also the Era is a bit more detailed without being over-hyped and the separation of instruments is better presumably due to lack of mid-range distortion and compression in comparison.In addition, the lack of airplay in the past 3 products is annoying and obviously due to a lack of desire to pay for licensing. They expect us all to buy one of their air-play capable products and group them. This is exactly what I do, but I think they should just include it in their newer products for those who have not already invested in their ecosystem.

Anschließen, Wiim App erkennt sie sofort und ich kann jetzt zusammen mit den 4 Teufel Boxen, die wiederum an zwei Wiim Pro angeschlossen sind in allen 3 Räumen die gleiche Musik hören.Ein Wiim Produkt was sich ohne Probleme einrichten und steuern lässt. Auch die Fernbedienung war in 10 Sekunden verbunden und soweit ich weiß bekommt man die nicht unbedingt bei Wiim direkt mitgeliefert.Musste in der Küche noch für einen WLAN repeater sorgen da das der entfernteste Raum aus Sicht meiner Fritzbox ist. Man kann zwei Boxen wie ich auch als Links und Rechts in einem Raum einrichten und damit Stereo hören. Zusätzlich kann man eine Raumanpassumg machen oder Equalizer nutzen, so dass die Boxen besser klingen in der Umgebung, in der sie aufgestellt wurden (in meinem Fall auf den oberen Küchenemschränken)Klare Kaufempfehlung für Kunden die Wiim bereits zu schätzen gelernt haben, funktioniert wie Sonos aber mit mehr Freiheiten.Der Klang ist auch solide für die Preikategorie. Man sieht welche Musik gerade abgespielt wird, kann sie an der Box direkt steuern oder eine im Standby eine Uhr anzeigen. Ich streame viel mit Qobuz Connect und das funktioniert über die Android App sehr gut und lässt sich mit wenigen Klicks auf alle Räume übertragen. Genauso NAS einbinden oder eine der anderen 100 Connect Apps nutzen.
