Reliable Drive with Good Speeds
No issues at all — the drive performs as expected, averaging around 150 MB/s transfer speed. I bought this as a gift for my brother to back up his computer, and it’s been working perfectly so far. Reliable, quiet, and plenty of storage for the price.

I bought 2 for different purposes & are great.
I have 2 of these. One as a backup for my Computer & another to record OTA TV with my OTA DVR. They both work great.

Great 18TB hard drive
I received the hard drive in perfect condition. I have been using the drive for almost 1 month with absolutely no problems.

Works great, but noisy
This is a review for the Seagate 6TB desktop hard drive. The portable models I’ve had before (4TB) have been virtually silent, but this one is not. Immediately upon plugging it in for the first time, it starting making a fan-like whirring noise that has been constant. You’ll notice it if you’re in a very quiet location, but some moderate ambient noise in your environment would be enough to mask it. The noise is enough for me that it’s not going to be acceptable leaving it connected constantly, but that’s OK, I can demote it to an emergency backup drive.Noise aside, performance has been great so far. This is my fourth Seagate drive (previous ones have been the portable ones). My oldest one is about six years old. They’ve all held up well so far. I format them into 2TB partitions for Linux and it works great.

The18TB is 1000% WORTH THE MONEY!!!!
I currently have 4 of the 18Tb and I’ve had them plugged in and running for at least the last 3 YEARS STRAIGHT, and they have not EVER failed to load, self-corrupted or lost files. I’ve even dropped one of them once off a 3ft tall table onto a tile floor, and it still runs like new, so I 1000% endorse this product. It’s 100% WORTH THE MONEY!!!!

Does not last and no support
I purchased this HDD as a backup and after about 9 months it just stopped working…I have purchased many cables and power options to try and get it up and running again to no avail. I contacted Seagate they told me there was nothing they could do. I would not buy another one of these and definitely not from Seagate what’s the point if it dies and you lose all of your important data?

Excellent!
Flawless perfection with a WENTER USB HUB. Strange, the 18GB is actually faster than the 20GB… Hmm. I’ll buy it again!

Betrouwbaarheid boven snelheid of vormgeving.

Fine so far, and easy to use. Aesthetically, a clean, quiet look. Just, not very fast but i guess you get what you pay for. User tip: it’s not an SSD so don’t ever move it or knock it while it’s on! That could be tickets for your data. I bought 2 to enable double-back up. Rather than have a single 12 TB drive that could pop.
